They’re lunatics! Swimming and a beach fire . . now that’s a sight you don’t see every day . .hope you had a good one!

  3. She swam? In winter? Is she totally deranged – or is she wearing a wetsuit under her skin?!

@AV That is exactly how I feel. I have major goosebumps and a shiver down my back just thinking about it,

Sorry for taking so long to reply. There’s so much coming and going in this house at the moment, my poor blog has been sinfully neglected.

Today I passed by the ‘swimming’ beach on my morning walk and it looked very different from Christmas Day when the sea was flat calm. We’ve had cold easterly winds creating a huge sea swell with waves crashing up onto the beach. I chose to walk the pier on the lower level as occasional waves were crashing over the higher wall. It’s always funny to watch unsuspecting tourists getting totally soaked!

The three girls in the above photo left at 6.45am this morning to join a group of experienced walkers (including Poppy’s older brother) to climb Lugnaquilla (925 m (3,035 ft) in Co. Wicklow. They had perfect conditions for the climb and made it to the summit and back just before darkness fell.

I wonder what’s next on their cards ๐Ÿ˜•
